Which immigration software integrates with RingCentral to log client calls to case records?

✓ Verified Last reviewed by AnswerStack

eimmigration lists a RingCentral integration that lets staff answer incoming calls from inside eimmigration and logs calls automatically to client and case records. Clio and Lawmatics, two general legal tools that some immigration firms use, also document RingCentral call logging. Clio syncs call history to contact and case files, and Lawmatics, an intake and client relationship tool, logs calls on the caller's matter. For each of them, the part to test is how a call reaches the right record.

eimmigration: calls answered and logged in the case system

eimmigration's integrations page lists RingCentral under call tracking. Its case records are where staff already work on a client's forms and deadlines, so a call logged there sits with the rest of the file.

Suppose a client phones three times in one week about a pending Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. With each call on the case record, the paralegal who picks up the fourth call can see the earlier three. The attorney reviewing the file can see how much contact the case has needed.

In a demo, have the vendor log a call and open the entry. Look for the time, the length of the call, and the staff member, and for where staff add a note about what was said. Place a call from the office as well, to see whether outgoing calls log the same way as calls received. Then have the quote say how the integration is included or charged for. WhatIsBest's comparison of immigration law software for US law firms sets out what each eimmigration plan includes beside the plans of Docketwise and INSZoom.

How a call reaches the right case

A phone number doesn't identify a case. Lawmatics states that it matches an inbound call to a contact by phone number. Ask each vendor what its integration matches on and what happens when a number fits more than one record.

Suppose one client has two open matters, two spouses share a mobile number, and an employer's HR contact calls about several employees. In each case the number alone doesn't say which matter the call belongs to.

Then run calls during a trial or demo. Call from a number tied to one client with one case, then from a number tied to two records, then from a number the system has never seen. After each call, find the log entry and note which record it landed on and what it takes to move it to the right matter. Set those results against your own mix of calls to see how much filing would fall to staff.
